Heritage Club of Aurora
Flag Dedication Ceremony
Performed by ALR District 6 members on June 10, 2007
By Rahn Thomsen

On June 10th of 2007, 8 members of ALR District 6 performed a flag dedication ceremony at the Heritage Club, assisted living facility, in Aurora, Colorado. This ceremony was coordinated by ALR members Dean Fordyce and James Zeleznik, who are also employees of Heritage Club. While planning the dedication ceremony, it was discovered that there were 12 veterans living at Heritage Club. So with this in mind, we had to ensure a proper ceremony was performed.

The ALR members met just north of the Heritage Club to flag up and ride in to the facility at the beginning of the festivities.

There were approximately 50 to 60 residents in attendance and applauded our entrance.

The ceremony started promptly at 10:30 AM, with Cyndi Fordyce, District 6 President, performing the duties of Dedication President. The color guard was assembled, called to attention and marched into position, and the flag dedication ceremony was performed.

Everything went as planned and all the residents of Heritage Club were very pleased with services that were provided by District 6. Lots of favorable comments were received as well.

A BBQ followed the ceremony, with plenty of food and beverages, provided by the Heritage Club staff.
